Recently, the first photos of a hybrid modification of the Mini Countryman, in which a power unit similar to the BMW 2 ActiveTourer will be installed, were leaked.

Based on the pictures presented, the design of the new item is not much different from the classic version of the compact crossover. The main change was the appearance of a special connector for charging the electric motor, which is located in the area of the front fender of the crossover.

Technologically, the E-rated Mini Countryman will be based on the UKL2 bogie and will have two engines: one 1.5-liter twin-turbo and the other an electric motor with a combined output of 224 hp.

The car will be equipped with a modern 6-band Steptronic transmission, which will allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 in just over 6 seconds. The company emphasizes that the Countryman E will be able to cover about 38 km on a single charge of batteries, while the car will receive a unique function , thanks to which, when driving at speeds up to 50 km / h, it will be driven exclusively by electric traction, which will have a positive effect on the economy of the car.

According to preliminary information, the official presentation of the hybrid "Countryman" will be held together with the demonstration of the standard version of the new generation car, which is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. The release date for the Mini Countryman E is called the first half of 2017, while it remains to be seen what price tag the new product will receive.
