The popularity of Great Wall is growing every day. The first pickups were not the most successful in terms of design, but they were not inferior to competitors in terms of reliability. The latest development of the Chinese company was the new Great Wall Cannon pickup, which is significantly different in exterior from its predecessors.

Officially, the new Great Wall Kannon pickup was presented on August 18, 2019 in China, and almost immediately the car went to dealerships. Earlier, at an exhibition in Shanghai, the manufacturer hinted at a novelty, showing a prototype of the P-Series pickup, which reminded many of the American Ford pickups. The pickup was based on a frame with fully independent spring suspension (front and rear).

The arrival of the new 2019 Great Wall Pickup was as unexpected as the completely redesigned exterior of the vehicle. Compared to the already sold Wingle pickups, the new Cannon has nothing in common except for the body behind the cab. We can say this is a full-fledged, full-size pickup truck that impresses with its design and capabilities.

From the front, the Chinese pickup looks more like American cars than those produced in China. The new Cannon features a massive radiator grille with chrome surround and horizontal slats. More brutality to the pickup is given by a front bumper with black protection in the center, a massive hood and completely new optics.

The peculiarity of the hood is that the end part was taken away under the thick chrome edging of the grille, and the central part was raised relative to the side elements. The front optics of the new Great Wall Cannon look no less impressive. It is based on LED technology, with pronounced C-shaped running lights along the edging. The central part was set aside for two square lenses of high and low beam. This form of optics gives the pickup even more rigor and style.

From the side, the new Great Wall Kannon pickup looks truly modern and stylish. A minimum of chrome-plated parts, an ideal ratio of body-to-wheel dimensions, as well as a comfortable fit for second-row passengers, which was not present in the latest Wingle 7. The wheel arches received plastic overlays for protection when driving off-road. The lower part of the doors acquired a stamping, and a characteristic nameplate appeared on the front fender, which reminds many of Ford's pickup versions.

Side mirrors turned out to be large enough, the upper part of the body got a chrome trim, the lower one is made of black plastic. If desired, the body of the mirror can be completely made of plastic, although the appearance will spoil a little. By body color it is known about the following options:

The first thing that catches your eye is a high ground clearance, a modern trunk lid and a convenient bumper, which at the right time can serve as a step to get into the cargo hold. In a modern design, LED hind feet are made, and to give more rigor, the base was made black, with pronounced C-shaped elements.

As an addition to the stylish look of the pickup, the manufacturer proposes to add all sorts of protection, additional arches on the body part, as well as a cover on the cargo part, thereby hiding the capacity from prying eyes. As for the cargo compartment, it is quite capable of positioning a small ATV and lifting oversized cargo on board. In addition to the rigid cover, the buyer is offered a roller shutter or an awning covering.

The list of functions of the system includes voice control, synchronization of gadgets via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and there is also a 4G LTE mobile connection. Nevertheless, the manufacturer did not begin to minimize the number of mechanical buttons. On the sides of the display there are a couple of air ducts, but below a whole set of buttons for controlling security and comfort systems. There is also a climate control panel and a small compartment with different types of chargers. The central tunnel of the new Great Wall Cannon looks no less effective. The automatic transmission lever has received a massive shape, like in an airplane. On the sides were located buttons for active systems and quick access, a washer for selecting travel modes, an electromechanical handbrake and a small compartment with cup holders. The whole set is completed with a massive armrest with a spacious compartment.

The seats of the new Great Wall Cannon pickup will surprise no less than the center panel. Comfortable lateral support, high backrest and headrests. The first row of seats looks more like a luxury sedan than a rough pickup. Both seats are heated, ventilated and electrically adjustable. The driver's seat can be adjusted in 12 directions, the front passenger seat in 8 directions.

The second row of pickup seats is designed for 3 seats, with three separate headrests and heating. For storing tools and various little things, a small space was added under the 2nd row seats. As for the upholstery, the basic pickup options will receive high-quality fabric upholstery, the top-end configurations will get leather upholstery.

In addition to the leather upholstery of the Great Wall Cannon seats, the front panel, door trims and other interior elements will be covered with the same leather. As for the colors, the buyer was offered seasoned shades: black, brown, gray, beige, combined options. They also offer a choice of polished aluminum or matt wood inserts. A huge plus is that glossy inserts are excluded, which previously had to be frequently rubbed.

Finally, we will consider the driver's seat of the new Great Wall Cannon 2019. Initially, it was assumed that the instrument panel would be completely digital, but since the car will be used in a variety of conditions, and to maintain a relatively low cost, it was made analog-digital. The central part of the panel was taken under the 7 ″ color display, and a round speedometer and tachometer were placed on the sides.In addition to basic information about the condition of the car, the central display can display images from cameras, navigation maps or other necessary information.

The steering wheel of a pickup truck can be said for an amateur. Standard classic shape, 4 knitting needles, two of which are reserved for function buttons.
