Our rating includes those cars for which Ukrainian drivers have brightly voted with their wallets for the period from the beginning of 2017. The data for the survey were provided by Ukravtoprom, an association of motor transport manufacturers that keep statistics on registrations of newly acquired vehicles in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Surprisingly, the absolute leader was a car worth half a million hryvnia, while the most budget models were in the last places.
10. Nissan Qashqai
The compact crossover, more than once included in various ratings as the most popular SUV in the world, is supplied to Ukraine with gasoline engines that consume about 4.9 liters in mixed mode:
- 1.2-liter 115-strong,
- 2-liter 144-horsepower.
The latest generation made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in early 2017, leaving the technical component intact, but significantly changing its appearance. The models have changed the bumper, radiator grille, front and rear headlights, buyers are offered a choice of light-alloy 17, 18 and 19-inch wheels.
Inside, the driver will be able to enjoy an 8-speaker sound system with a new interface, quality finishes and thinner front seats, which gives him and his passengers more legroom.
Performance has been improved with a redesigned chassis that gives the car better handling, and more soundproofing has been added to the rear wheel arches and all doors.
The cost for a new product that appeared on the Ukrainian car markets in October this year starts at $ 18,500.

9. Ravon R2 ($ 7,000)
The Uzbek automaker, popular in Russia, which once worked under the auspices of Daewoo and was called UZ-Daewoo, first came to Ukraine in 2016 under the Ravon label. Having conquered hearts with Matiz and Gentra, the new Ravon R2 fell into fertile soil and quickly gained popularity.
By and large, the model is just a transformed version of the Chevrolet Spark, only much cheaper and more interesting. Having similar technical characteristics and appearance to the "brother", the hatchback has a 4-cylinder 85-horsepower engine, which consumes up to 6 liters in the combined cycle.

8. Toyota Camry
The most popular and best-selling car in the world needs no introduction. Camry, which is loved in almost every country, is no exception in Ukraine. Here it comes with an 181-horsepower 2.5-liter petrol unit mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and consumes up to 8 liters in mixed mode.

7. Hyundai Tucson
This is the best all-wheel drive crossover of all Hyundai produced, supplied to Ukraine with 2-liter engines:
- gasoline 155-strong;
- diesel 185-horsepower.
Each of them will require about 4.7-5 liters in mixed mode, and the transmission is offered for them robotic, automatic or mechanical.
The car is distinguished by its cross-country ability, practicality and spectacular appearance, and in addition, it can offer a spacious interior for five adults and a spacious trunk for 513 liters or 1503 liters with folded seats.
With such a stylish look, the dashboard looks too cheap and inconspicuous, although the exterior of the model itself is considered more interesting than the popular Nissan Qashqai.
With its sharp grille and headlights, the car is a bit similar to the Audi, and the minimalist styling of the cabin is similar to the Sportage. Electric adjustment of the front seats is available only in expensive trim levels, but heating is already available in the basic version.
The multimedia system deserves praise, thoughtful and convenient, and the touchscreen does not glare even when exposed to bright light.
Among the shortcomings, one can note the lack of integration of a connected smartphone with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, but the navigation system, according to the owners, works much faster than the same Nissan Qashqai.

6. Toyota Corolla ($ 15,800)
This long-liver on the world market does not require lengthy descriptions. Produced since 1966, it has been recognized as the best and best-selling car more than once.
In Ukraine, the model can be purchased exclusively with a 1.3-liter or 1.6-liter petrol engine. The Corolla does not have all-wheel drive, although at 145mm ground clearance, it is not so necessary.
In the new generation, the "Japanese" radically changed the front part: bumper, radiator grille, headlights, rims, LED optics. In the cabin, the dashboard has been updated, which has acquired a 4-inch display, a steering wheel, as well as air ducts, now resembling turbines. And at the same time, the designers have worked to improve sound insulation.
In a technical sense, the model did not receive any new devices, although it provides the owner with all the standard systems and assistants.

5. Renault Duster
The most budgetary European SUV, produced at the Romanian car plant, arrives in Ukraine in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, as well as with a gasoline or diesel engine. The model with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine will cost the least the consumer. Although its ground clearance is 5 mm less, the luggage compartment is larger by as much as 70 liters of the all-wheel drive "brother".
Car enthusiasts are already pre-ordering the 2018 Duster, which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The dimensions of the car remained the same, only the hood was raised for greater safety of passengers and the driver.
I received a model and new optics: the taillights began to protrude from the rear of the car, and the front ones got LEDs. The A-pillar has been moved forward 10 cm to provide more space in the cabin. In addition, the interior has been updated in terms of the on-board computer, steering wheel, multimedia system, climate control unit. The range of power units consists of:
- 1.6-liter 105 horsepower petrol engine with automatic or manual transmission;
- 1.5-liter 110-horsepower diesel, working only with "mechanics".
The technical equipment will also become much richer: a system of all-round visibility and tracking "blind spots", keyless entry, side curtain airbags, automatic high-beam control.

4. Toyota RAV4
The 2017 model is an upgraded version of the 4th generation crossover with interesting and helpful updates.
In terms of the degree of "all-terrain" RAV4 is second only to Renault Duster, whose ground clearance is 15 mm higher, but all-wheel drive is available only in one of the available trim levels.
The engines of the cars supplied to Ukraine are gasoline engines of 2 and 2.2 liters with a capacity of 146 and 150 hp. respectively, which require no more than 6 liters in the combined cycle.
The exterior of the model has not fundamentally changed, remaining laconic and practical. The difference can be seen in the bow, which has been rewarded with a new bumper, optics and fog lights.
But the interior is now made of significantly better materials, and the assembly itself has acquired the highest level, although plastic elements can be found here and there. The spacious cabin has enough space for even five adults, and the backs of the rear seats can be adjusted by several degrees.
For the electric seat adjustment, the driver will have to pay extra for a more expensive configuration.There is a lot of storage in the cabin: spacious pockets on each door, a glove box, a large luggage compartment of 547 liters, surpassing the direct competitor Nissan Qashqai with its 430 liters.
The multimedia system remained at the same level, and the owners note not the most prompt response to the commands given.
Of the security systems, the new RAV4 has a surveillance camera, a lane departure warning system, a frontal collision avoidance function, and adaptive cruise control.

3. Skoda Octavia
On the Ukrainian market, the car is presented in the sedan and station wagon bodies, which are equipped with three petrol engines of 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 liters and one diesel engine for 2 liters. All-wheel drive is only available on the 1.8-liter model, but the 154mm ground clearance significantly reduces its functionality.
The design of the model has become more aggressive and controversial. For example, they decided to split each headlight into two parts, which was not to the liking of all motorists. The car itself has become slightly longer, and the rear track has expanded by 20 mm.
The Octavia is one of the most spacious cars in its class:
- the sedan provides 568 liters or 1,588 liters with the seats folded down;
- station wagon - 588 liters or 1,718 liters folded.
All configurations allow you to adjust the steering wheel for reach and height, as well as the driver's seat. The interior of the basic version is completely black, the following configurations have inserts in metallic shades. The top model boasts a black or beige leather interior.
Both bodies are equipped with four power plants:
- 1.4-liter 150-horsepower petrol;
- 1.6-liter 110-horsepower gasoline;
- 1.8-liter 180-horsepower gasoline;
- 2-liter 50-horsepower diesel.
All-wheel drive is only available on the version with a 1.8-liter engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Different configurations offer a variety of technical equipment: a multimedia system with a touch screen, Wi Fi, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, an electric boot lid, a function for storing seat settings, climate control. Rear seat passengers can use USB ports and compact tables attached to the walls of the front seats.

2. Renault Logan
Renault Logan is the most budgetary European car that can be purchased in Ukraine. For a sedan, it has a good ground clearance of 175 mm and a trunk of 510 liters. In addition, it is equipped with a very economical diesel engine consuming only 3.7 liters.
The 2017 version does not differ much from its predecessor, although on the technical side its equipment has become more luxurious: a rear-view camera and parking sensors, an electronic assistant when going uphill, turn indicators, a multimedia system with a navigator.
Externally, the radiator grille, taillights and headlights, both bumpers have slightly changed. Thus, Logan began to resemble as much as possible its "brothers" in the lineup of the automaker.
The salon has acquired more chrome parts, updated front air ducts, a steering wheel in a new braid, and different upholstery of the seats. Electric windows are now available in the basic version, and the fuel tank can be opened without leaving the passenger compartment.

1. Kia Sportage
The Korean SUV has become almost a cult car for Ukraine, topping the rating of the best-selling cars due to the ratio of cost and quality.
A very decent build, front and rear wheel drive version, 182 mm ground clearance - the model is an excellent choice for young people and couples, for city and country trips.
"Korean" is generous in the range of engines: 2 gasoline and 2 diesel, of which the most economical one can be called a 1.7-liter diesel with a consumption of 4.2 liters.
The exterior is too elegant and expressive for a crossover, especially with a branded grille. The interior with improved noise insulation received soft and interesting finishing materials, although in some places plastic is not of the best quality.
The infotainment system has removed unnecessary buttons from the dashboard, and the touchscreen provides the driver with all the necessary information. In the basic configuration, the owner will have to manually adjust the seat tilt and lumbar support, but the rear passengers will fully enjoy the abundance of free space.
The luggage compartment can be attributed to the average size - 503 liters or 1492 with the backrests folded.
The list of equipment, depending on the selected configuration, includes: ABS, motion stabilization, assistance when climbing uphill, cruise control, automatic headlights, tire pressure monitoring, rain sensors, parking sensors, rear view camera, multimedia system with 5- inch display, blind spot monitoring.
