The Cabinet of Ministers has expanded the list of information on the license plates of registered vehicles and their owners. This will help when imposing an arrest or resolving issues when re-registering a vehicle.
Previously, it was possible to obtain information about the owner of the car only through inquiries to the police and then, in the most extreme cases. Now on October 19, 2016, by the new resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 735, you can get more information. This information is published on the government website.
In the description of the document it is said that the state authorities have the maximum information about the car and its owner. This will help in drafting procedural documents in case of arrest, recognition as an instrument of crime or as material evidence, as well as when declaring a car on the wanted list.
In addition, such permission in the law regarding license plates will simplify the receipt of information for notaries. This will improve the quality of information verification in various transactions, the subject of which is a vehicle. For lawyers, such permission to access information about the car will speed up the process of preparing procedural documents that secure a claim when seizing property. As we know, cars often fall under big lawsuits. Previously, in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 260 of March 25, 2016, only the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, local authorities, courts, the prosecutor's office and the Security Service of Ukraine could obtain such information from the state register of vehicles for free. Notaries and lawyers received such information on a paid basis. If you needed to get information about the brand, model, engine size and release date, then such data was free.
It is too early to say whether this will positively or negatively affect the owners and consumers of information, but most likely it will simplify and speed up the processes of resolving various documents.
