In September 2019, Audi showed off the next generation of the charged Audi RS Q3 compact crossover. The novelty differs from the civilian version of the model by an aggressive aerodynamic body kit, a modernized interior and, of course, a more productive technical filling.

The first generation of the model was shown by the Ingolstadt-based company back in the spring of 2013 in Geneva. The car aroused considerable interest from the world community, which appreciated the work of Audi designers and engineers. So what exactly is the new RS Q3?

Exterior

The new Audi RS Q3 is made in the best traditions of the brand.

The front part of the body exhibits a relief hood, menacingly squinted head optics with LED filling, a glossy false radiator grille with a logo and an RS nameplate, as well as a powerful front bumper with large air intakes and a kind of splitter.

The assembled crossover profile exhibits a sloping roofline, massive C-pillars, elegant tides on the sidewalls and wide wheel arches that house 20- or 21-inch rims.

The toned stern of the car is represented by laconic side lights, a compact luggage compartment lid, horizontal fog light stripes and a monumental rear bumper with a built-in pseudo-diffuser and two huge exhaust pipes. The spoiler and the “RS” brand nameplate deserve special attention.

External dimensions of the Audi RS Q3 2020:

Length, mm4506
Width, mm1851 (including external mirrors - 2024)
Height, mm1602
Wheelbase length, mm2680

The exact clearance is not announced by the manufacturer, but if you believe insider information, it is here 10 mm less than that of the civilian modification Q3. The front and rear track widths are 1590 and 1583 mm, respectively.

Future buyers of the novelty can choose one of several body colors, as well as one of several options for the visual design of the rims.

Salon Audi RS Q3 2020

The interior of the Audi RS Q3 is made in the style of the latest models of the company - it is stylish, laconic and functional. The quality of finishing materials, assembly and ergonomics are above all praise and fully correspond to the car of the premium segment.

In front of the driver is a stylish 10.3-inch virtual instrument panel and a sports multifunction steering wheel with a cut-off lower rim. The steering wheel features an RS badge and striking red stitching.

In the central part of the front dashboard there is a large touch screen of the multimedia information center, and right below it is a laconic and intuitive control unit for the in-cabin climate. Opposite the front rider there is a decorative insert with the inscription "Quattro" and a spacious glove compartment.

The front passengers are provided with first-class sports seats with integrated head restraints, with a wide range of adjustments, heating and excellent lateral support. The seats are standard in a combination of Alcantara and leather, with Nappa leather available as an option.

Between the seats is the center console, where there is an armrest with a niche for luggage, a pair of cup holders, an electronic parking brake, an automatic transmission selector and a couple of additional buttons.

The second row of seats is profiled for two riders, but if necessary, it can accommodate a third passenger. Although we must admit, the central rider will be hampered by a high transmission tunnel and a frankly short pillow. Available amenities include a folding center armrest and a separate unit of air duct deflectors.

The exact volume of the trunk is not announced, while under its raised floor there is a niche for a stowaway and a set of tools.

2020 Audi RS Q3 Specifications

Under the hood is a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder TFSI engine, which has been boosted from 340 hp. with. and 450 Nm to an impressive 400 "horses" and 480 Nm of torque. The manufacturer also reports that the engine has become 26 kg lighter, received an improved combined fuel injection system and a new turbocharger.

The partner of the power plant is a modern 7-speed S-tronic robot, which transmits torque to all wheels (the proprietary quattro all-wheel drive transmission is used).

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h requires just 4.5 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. For an additional fee, the electronic "collar" can be moved up to 280 km / h. The combined fuel consumption is declared at 8.8 liters for every 100 kilometers.

The manufacturer proudly claims that its engineers have optimized the steering settings and also installed more efficient brakes. The latter are represented by 6-piston ventilated discs with perforations with a diameter of 375 and 310 mm at the front and rear, respectively. The steering is complemented by an electric booster with variable characteristics.

As an option, the car can be equipped with an adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers that can almost instantly adapt to road conditions.
