With the advancement of electronics, new technologies, safety and comfort systems appear. One such example is the new I2V (Invisible-to-Visible) technology, which Nissan will soon present at the exhibition. CES 2019 in Las Vegas... Literally the name of the system is translated as “to see the invisible”. The main task of the new I2V technology is considered to be the analysis, output and integration of information from external and internal vehicle sensors, as well as synchronize information with data from the cloud.

By combining the collected data, it is easier for the driver to control the situation around the vehicle and the ability to view the situation several steps ahead, including the situation around the corner or building. It immediately becomes clear that the new Invisible-to-Visible technology will fully work only in advanced cities, where electronics and navigation systems are in the first place. In particular, the driver will be able to get the condition of the road in a certain area, visibility, weather conditions, as well as the presence of road signs. If necessary, the system will suggest alternative solutions, up to the optimal choice of the lane. The main advantage is the presence of sensors around the interior perimeter. The new technology can monitor passengers and recognize driver fatigue. To understand the whole principle of operation, the entire I2V mechanism will be demonstrated at a special stand from Nissan, which is equipped with special displays and a three-dimensional user interface. According to the manufacturer, the new I2V technology will allow you to enjoy travel and plan your journey in advance. In addition, depending on the driving style and the wishes of the driver (passengers), Invisible-to-Visible can be memorized and adjusted automatically.

I2V is based on the previously known Omni-Sensing technology, also from Nissan. The latter system, in turn, also collects and analyzes data about the driver, passengers, and the situation around the car. Omni-Sensing takes information about traffic jams and traffic situations from ProPILOT. The new I2V technology during the trip can recreate sunny weather while it is raining outside, or find an electronic guide for passengers who will tell you about the area or the city. If the information is collected from the user, then the I2V system automatically places it on the cloud, from where other owners can use it.

How the I2V system will be implemented on Nissan vehicles has not yet been clarified and kept secret. Most likely, it will be made in the form of a projection in the center of the front panel or under the guise of a separate device, which is in the field of vision of the driver and passengers. Among the additional plus of I2V, there may be a search for free parking space, maneuvering in loaded traffic and other additions.
