Step-by-step actions for removing the instrument cluster
To remove the dashboard, you only need a Phillips screwdriver and pliers from the tools. After removal, read the article about dashboard repair.
1. As before any other repair work with the car - disconnect the wire with the "?" from the battery.
2. Next, remove the plastic trim of the dashboard: unscrew two self-tapping screws at the top and bottom with a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Then, with your hands, carefully remove the outdoor lighting switch and disconnect the connector from it.
4. A similar procedure is carried out on the right side of the instrument panel lining, only there we disconnect the connectors of the rear window heating switches and the rear fog light.
5. Having completely removed the plastic cover and putting it aside, you need to start dismantling the instrument cluster itself - unscrew one of its screws on each side. Now it is necessary to straighten the two upper legs with pliers that hold the instrument cluster of the car.
7. Pull out the instrument cluster unit towards you and disconnect the two blocks with wires.
After repairing this unit, install it back in the reverse order of removal.
